Imagine for a moment that you just awakened from a deep sleep and find yourself aboard a plane. You don't know where you are or why. You have no idea where you’re going. Are you in danger?
Welcome to FlightGuessr! Your mission is to figure out the destination so you can call for help.
There will be plenty of clues to help you. Use any tools that will help. Google Earth is a great tool and flight trackers like FlightAware can also be helpful. The flights you see along the way are actual flights in real time.
Depending on the flight mode (Easy, Standard, Difficult) OUR flight may be shown on the FSHub Global Flight Radar. Only the Difficult flights are conducted off-radar.
Easy and Standard modes feature "Super Scans" which are dynamic map insets to help you get your bearings.
The close-up ‘Super Scan’ default radius is 2.0nm but can be backed out if necessary. The intent of this view is to reveal locations that can be easily located – and placemarked -- in Google Earth using basic search.
The ‘way-up’ Super Scan radius is 700nm, which is basically country-sized.
You may also hear clues given in the pre-flight briefing or in riddles given along the way. There could also be clues in special music.
Be the first to name the destination city (or an airport code) in the livestream chat and you’re the WINNER and will have your achievement noted for posterity on our Wall of Fame. If your correct guess is the fastest ever, you’ll be at the top of the list.
In addition to bragging rights, you’ll also have earned an adhesive Full Circle FlightGuessr Global Challenge emblem (it’s a sticker).
